The Bait Tank Video Podcast: Season 2 is Here!
Welcome back, everyone! We’re kicking off Season 2 of The Bait Tank video podcast, and we couldn’t be more excited. If you’re new here, welcome! My name is Anthony from Extra Outdoors, and joining me is my co-host Sam. We’ve got some big updates about the show, so let’s dive right in!
A New Format for Season 2
We’ve made some changes this season to improve the quality of the podcast and make it more enjoyable for you. In the past, we tried live streaming, but with all of us juggling work, family, and other responsibilities, it just wasn’t feasible. Instead, we’re switching to a fully post-produced format. This means better audio, fewer technical difficulties (goodbye, echo-filled cellphone recordings), and the ability to cover topics more thoroughly.
This also allows us to ensure we deliver on our promise of full-length episodes with all the details intact. If we forget something, we can go back and record it—no more missing key points due to time constraints!
More Episodes, More Guests, More Fishing!
One of the biggest benefits of this change is that we’ll be able to release more episodes. Instead of just two a month, we’re aiming for weekly releases! This means more in-depth discussions, more guests, and more fishing content for you.
Speaking of guests, we’ve got a great lineup for this season, including:
- Fisheries biologists
- Wildlife management professionals
- Hatchery experts
- Leaders of major and niche fishing organizations
We’re also diving into lesser-known fish species, conservation efforts, and some unconventional fishing techniques. If you’re passionate about fishing, there’s something for you this season!
The Bait Tank Patreon – Get Involved!
Some of you have asked how you can support the show beyond just tuning in. Well, we now have a Patreon! By joining, you can help us improve our setup (like finally getting Sam a proper tripod instead of balancing his phone on an AR-15 magazine) and contribute to software and equipment costs.
Our Patreon tiers offer various perks, including:
- Early access to episodes (one week before public release)
- Raw, uncut footage full of bloopers and behind-the-scenes moments
- The opportunity to suggest episode topics
Fishing, Fun, and a Little Bit of Chaos
One of the things that makes The Bait Tank special is the mix of great fishing discussions and the hilarious moments that happen along the way. Whether it’s Sam’s wild stories, unexpected tech failures, or just the general shenanigans, we like to keep things fun while staying informative.
This season, we’re covering topics like:
- Influencing state fishing regulations
- Conservation efforts for lesser-known species
- Fly fishing for bigmouth buffalo
- Ancient “dinosaur” fish
- Taking kids fishing and making the experience enjoyable for them
As our new slogan says: If it’s fishing, we’ll talk about it!
Join the Conversation!
We love hearing from our listeners, so if you have any topic suggestions, guest recommendations, or just want to share your fishing stories, let us know in the comments or on social media. And if you’re ready to be part of our Patreon community, we’d love to have you onboard!
Thanks for sticking with us for Season 2. We’re excited to bring you bigger and better content, and we can’t wait to share this journey with you. Tight lines, and we’ll see you on the next episode of The Bait Tank!
